Christopher Forbes, Vice Chairman of FORBES, Inc. and M. Stephen Doherty, editor-in-chief of American Artist magazine, invite Kristine Diehl as one of eleven gifted young artists, most of them academically trained, to gather at Forbes' Old Battersea House, a 17th-century manor house near the River Thames in London. The artists arrived on April 16 and spent the next ten days drawing, painting, visiting museums and exchanging ideas. The work created during that visit, as well as studio paintings inspired by source material in London, is included in the January exhibition at The Forbes Galleries and in the cover story in the January 2005 issue of American Artist magazine.
